The Lake District is such an incredible location for a wedding, but also for your engagement shoot!

Last month I met up with amazing Laura and Richard for their pre-wedding photo shoot on Derwentwater, near Keswick.

As gorgeous Rosie the dog was joining us, where best to talk about wedding plans, than in the Borrowdale Hotel’s very own dog lounge!

Why have a photo shoot before your wedding?

They’re a great opportunity to get to know each other. It’s so nice to catch up with my couples prior their special day and to hear all how their wedding plans are going and for me to offer suggestions on the photography. I feel prewedding photo shoots are such an integral part of receiving an amazing service, that I offer them complimentary – no matter which wedding package is chosen.

With Laura and Richard’s engagement shoot we headed out to the fells and to an area that was very special to them.  Richard had asked Laura to marry him on the top of Walla Crag, which overlooks the beautiful northern fells and Derwent Water.  However, when he popped the question, it was in the depths of winter, with low visability and so the pair liked the idea of returning in the sunshine and getting some professional photographs taken.

And what a spot! With summer still in full flow and sun setting across the fells, we had such a brilliant afternoon.
