This Spring saw an exciting new era for one popular Lake District wedding venue, as Low Wood Bay reopened its doors, as a world class resort hotel.

Positioned within the enviable location, on the shores of Windermere and surround by stunning fells, the hotel is already a popular wedding venue. However, with a £16 million investment, it’s now emerging as one of the most luxurious and unique, within the Lakes.

Owned by the family company, ‘English Lakes Hotels’, Low Wood Bay is one of their flag ship hotels and its clear to see, with such a big investment, their passion for it.

A world class hotel in the Lake District

Low Wood Bay reopened on 12th April and guests can now enjoy one the 131 upgraded and refurbished bedrooms, as well as, a revamped Windermere restaurant and Langdale lounge.

In July, the luxurious Spa and additional outdoor leisure facilities will open, as well as, the new dining experience ‘Blue Smoke’.

The final phase will take place in October, with new ‘Club House’ rooms and suites completed.

Weddings at Low Wood Bay

Already a popular venue for couples who are attracted by its beautiful location, friendly staff and its ability to cater for any size of wedding from two to 280 guests. However, the new development will see the hotel transform into something quite unique, not yet seen in the Lakes before.

Wedding and Events Manager Gemma Jeffery, has worked for the family company English Lakes for 15 years and is very passionate about her work, helping couples get the best out of their day.  While Marc Sanders, a former Lancashire Life Food & Drink Awards winner and chef at The Wild Boar, will also bring a special influence into the kitchen, as he takes over as Resort Head Chef.
