As winter approached I met up with Megan and Vicky from London, for their pre-wedding Lake District photoshoot in Grasmere.
Megan and Vicky had travelled up from London and to visit family and to celebrate Thanksgiving. It was also the perfect opportunity to catch up with them and to hear how their wedding preparations were going.
We met at one of my favourite cafes in Grasmere, Greens for breakfast and coffee and to chat about their plans. It’s always a great opportunity, when catching up with my couples before their wedding, to see how everything is going and to listen to their photography needs.
Pre-wedding Engagement Shoot
It’s also good to chat about my style and discuss some exciting photography ideas for their day, before we headed outdoors to brave the cold. It was one of those Grasmere mornings, with frost on the ground and bitterly cold. But Megan and Vicky were excellent sports and coped really well with the cold.
Grasmere offers lots of amazing places for a photoshoot and we decided on a short walk to the lake shore. This location was not too far from the centre of Grasmere and gave us the stunning Lake District fells as a backdrop.
Lake District – Wedding Venue
Megan and Vicky will be getting married this summer at the Merewood Counrty House Hotel. The hotel dates back to 1812 and sits on an elevated position overlooking Lake Windermere. Built by the son of the 1st Earl of Lonsdale, the hotel still has many of its original features, including a beautifully panelled hall and reception, stained glass windows, magnificent fireplaces and a silk-lined drawing room.
I’m so excited photographing Megan and Vicky’s wedding this summer, and I’m really look forward to meeting up with them again soon!
