If you’re looking for a romantic and luxurious wedding venue nestled within the beautiful Lake District, then the Grade 1 listed Askham Hall, will not disappoint.
Askham Hall opened in the spring 2014 as a hotel and wedding venue and has quickly established itself as one of the most popular venues in the lakes.
The hall’s history
Originally a defensive Pele Tower, Askham hall dates back to the 1200’s. A medieval hall was added in the 1400’s and by the 16th and 17th centuries, the buildings evolved to what we see today.
Bank Barn is licensed for ceremonies and has been sympathetically converted into a first class wedding venue catering for up to 150 guests. The medieval hall can cater for 100 guests, while for more intimate weddings, the main house is also available. There are two churches close by, with St Peter’s just being a stone’s throw away in the village. While St Michaels overlooks the impressive Lowther Castle.
There are a wide variety of in-house catering options available, utilising locally sourced produce. Many of the ingredients used are grown at Askham Hall’s kitchen garden or reared on the 800 year old Lowther family estate.
Askham Hall sits on the edge of the picturesque Askham village, close to Lake Ullswater and the Eden Valley.
