Meet this amazing pair – Alice and her retired race horse Sally. Alice contacted me recently as she wanted to capture some lovely photos of Sally.
Alice has owned Sally for a few years now and they have built such a lovely friendship. And it’s that special bond between horse and rider I particularly want to capture on my photo shoots.
Equine Photo Shoot
We spent a lovely couple of hours taking photos of Sally. She was such a star and I think she enjoyed herself – as she was a great at posing!
Every horse I photograph is different, so not only is it important to capture the bond between horse and ride, but also their unique personalities.
I use natural light, no flash no mess. Just me and my camera, keeping the environment as normal as possible.
What happens on an equine photo shoot?
Prior to the photo session, I’ll call and chat about what you would like to achieve from the shoot. The photo session itself may be a mix of head shots, riding out on location or walking around in the field! Each session usually takes between 1 to 2 hours. Nothing is rushed.
