I’m so excited. I can’t quite believe I’m one of 10 finalists to have been shortlisted this year for the Founders Cup with The Guild of Photographers!
Celebrating their 30th Anniversary and as part of the celebrations, The Guild launched ‘The Founders Cup’ to acknowledge Roy Doorbar and Ian Gee who founded the organisation in 1988. It’s a national competition sponsored by EPSON.
Entrants had to submit three images which were connected or themed in some way. Then a panel of highly-respected judges reviewed all entries and narrowed them down to just 10 finalists.
The overall winner will be announced at an awards night held at a Jacobean mansion in Cheshire in February 2019 where the winner will receive a trophy as well as a printer worth more than £1,000.
2018 has been such a successful year for me, having also achieved membership to The Guild’s ‘Photographers Bar’ for a second consecutive time. It is a distinction awarded to photographers who have successfully had their images assessed by the guild and provided an exceptional level of professional skill and consistency in their work.
